Growing seeds!

Primary 3 and Primary 7 have been working together this year to grow some seed that Miss Finn so generously manage to find for the classes.

We planted Spinach, Peas and Cress seeds. Then we helped them to germinate and grow by watering them when needed and making sure they got enough sunlight.

After 3 weeks, the cress had grown an awful lot...... so we decided to harvest it and try it on some sandwiches!
They were fantastic!!!!!!

Day and Night workshop

P2 and 3 were lucky enough to have a visit from Generation Science, who came to help them understand the difference between day and night and why there are different time zones.

They had great fun with Benny and Jack, and some were even lucky enough to hold the Sun!!!!!

Taste testing...... yuck!!!!!!

Taste Tests!!!!

Primary 3 have been investigating the senses and this week we looked at taste! They were finding out how all of the senses play a part in what you think of a food.

They covered their eyes and their partner chose a something for them to taste. This meant that they couldn't make a judgement over the piece of food before they had tasted it!

Broccoli was deemed as the least popular taste, as it caused the most groans and yucks!!!!!!!! Popcorn and pineapple were definite winners though!!!!!

Class Mass and Topic.

On Friday the 5th of February, it was P3's turn to lead the first Friday mass. We spoke about forgiveness and saying sorry.

Everyone read well and had a great time!

Our topic this term has been Old Edinburgh and we are currently building our own Royal mile! We have Edinburgh Castle at the top and quite a few Palaces and Abbeys at the bottom.... as you can see!
